Newlywed appears in court over death of wife

A man has appeared in court charged with killing his new wife after her body was discovered in the garage of their home in Cheshire.

Police confirmed on Monday night Michael Roberts, 26, had been charged with the murder of Vicky Roberts, 25.

Mrs Roberts' body was found at their home in Daresbury, near Runcorn, on Thursday.

A post-mortem indicated her cause of death may have been strangulation.

Mr Roberts was arrested on Sunday and appeared before Warrington magistrates' court yesterday charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Warrington crown court on January 4th.

The pair had been married for six months before Mrs Roberts' death.
