The Ivorian striker pulled up late on at Stamford Bridge with a problem in his calf, having earlier helped himself to his fifth goal of the season. He was then substituted by Carlo Ancelotti amid fears of a serious injury.
However, assistant first team coach Wilkins has put any worries of lasting injury firmly to bed: “He had the most horrendous bout of cramp.”
Wilkins also confirmed that Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov will start tomorrow’s Carling Cup match against QPR.
England midfielder Cole has been out of action since January with a cruciate knee ligament injury and is yet to feature this season. He will be hoping to force his way into Ancelotti’s plans with next year’s World Cup in South Africa on the horizon.
Chelsea go into tomorrow night’s game against their local rivals sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League with six wins from six games.
