Police are investigating the case, saying a 50-year-old psychotherapist has been arrested and questioned, after admitting to giving the group a mix of drugs.
Reports say 12 people were involved in the class and were taken to hospital with suspected poisoning.
'During the session, which lasted several hours, he [the psychotherapist] supposedly gave the patients various kinds of substances and drugs that initially led to reactions like nausea and vomiting,' a police statement said.
It is believed a 59-year-old man and a 28-year-old man died following the incident while another patient remains in hospital in a coma. Local reports have suggested the drugs administered may have been heroin, amphetamines and ecstasy.
A police spokesman, Michael Gassen, said: 'At this session the participants were given substances. What kind of substances these are... has to be investigated now.'
The incident took place in Berlin's Hermsdorf district on Saturday.
