The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida in spring 2010, with a host of attractions inspired by JK Rowling's novels and the subsequent films.
New artists' impressions of the park reveal it will have a full-sized replica of the Hogsmeade village which nears Hogwarts school, including the Three Broomsticks pub frequently visited by Harry and his classmates.
The park will also include the Dragon Challenge, a high-speed ride said to be 'definitely for the brave' and based on the Triwizard Tournament featured in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The Forbidden Journey ride will speed visitors through Hogwarts school while Flight of the Hippogriff will send fans into orbit as part of simulated ride with the magical winged creature.
'[It is] brand new, extremely exciting, never been done, never been seen before,' said Alan Gilmore, the supervising art director for the theme park and a former art director on two of the Harry Potter movies.
'I can't say big enough words. It's going to be absolutely mind-blowing.'
Universal Park and Resorts chairman and chief executive Tom Williams added: 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be unlike any other experience on earth.
'All of the action and adventures of Harry Potter's world will come to life here at Universal Orlando Resort.'
Details of the park, which is fully endorsed by Harry Potter creator JK Rowling, were announced by actor Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.
