Mourinho's outburst has come on the back of Capello's declaration that Inter Milan had to win the Champions League this season so Mourinho's reign wasn't looked upon as a failure.
The former Chelsea boss said: 'In this Champions League, there are a lot of teams who have already got a settled team like Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
'Then there is Inter, who have a big squad but the team is still under construction. It is like this for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as well.'
Mourinho admitted last season's early exit in the first knockout round, when they lost 2-0 on aggregate to eventual finalists Manchester United, was a disappointment but vowed to improve this year.
'Last season, none of the Italian teams did well but I don't think that this year it will go as badly,' he continued.
'But whoever says that Inter 'have' to win the Champions League knows nothing about football, and in the place of 'nothing' I could use much stronger words.'
