Teacher jailed for lesbian affair with pupil

A private school teacher has been jailed for over a year after admitting having an affair with a 15-year-old pupil.

Helen Goddard met the teenager at the London school where she taught music.

The pair are then said to have engaged in a five month affair.

The 26-year-old, from Greenwich, south-east London, had previously pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a female under the age of 16.

And she was today sentenced to 15 months in jail at Southwark crown court. She has also been ordered to sign the sex offenders register.

The school at which she worked can not be named for legal reasons.
