Six months on: Claudia still missing

Claudia Lawrence's father is to repeat witness appeals on the six-month anniversary of the disappearance of his daughter.

Today marks six months to the day since the chef went missing in York.

The 35-year-old was last seen leaving work at the University of York on March 18th and has not been heard of or seen since.

Police believe she left her home as normal to go to work the following day, but never arrived.

One of the biggest investigations in North Yorkshire police's history has since been launched, with CCTV footage of potential suspects released and rewards offered for information.

Her father, Peter Lawrence, will this afternoon hold a press conference at the Nag's Head pub in the area of York where Claudia used to live.

North Yorkshire police will also hold a series of interviews with the press and Detective Superintendent Ray Galloway is set to issue an update on the investigation.

Written statements will also be provided from Claudia's father and her sister, Ali.

A new recorded mobile video appeal is to taken out onto the streets of York over the weekend along with a blue-tooth message.

Claudia's disappearance has prompted more than 1,200 calls to the police hotlines, a series of Crimewatch appeals and even pleas for information from the Archbishop of York.
