Robbie Williams to play Electric Proms show

Singer Robbie Williams will make his first UK appearance in three years at the BBC's Electric Proms, it has been announced.

The Angels star will perform at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London, on October 20th as part of this year's series of Electric Proms concerts.

Williams, whose new album Reality Killed the Video Star is released in November, will be accompanied by a string and horn section, as well as a full band.

Renowned producer Trevor Horn, who has worked with Williams on his upcoming album, will oversee the musical direction of the Electric Proms concert, which will be broadcast on Radio 1.

'I'm looking forward to playing my new songs, working with Trevor Horn again and seeing how people react to what I've been doing,' said Williams.

Tickets for the show are priced at £25 and go on sale at 08:00 on Wednesday morning,

Other acts confirmed for this year's Electric Proms include Mercury nominee Florence and the Machine, as well as Dizzee Rascal, Doves, the reformed Magazine, Metronomy and Smokey Robinson.
