Madeleine McCann's parents return to Portugal

The parents of missing schoolgirl Madeleine McCann have retuned to Portugal for the first time since being questioned by police over their daughter's disappearance.

Kate and Gerry McCann travelled to Lisbon for a series of meetings with their legal advisors regarding the ongoing search for their daughter.

The couple, however, will not visit Praia da Luz, the holiday resort where Madeleine went missing in May 2007.

Speaking of the visit, the family's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the McCanns remained willing to do 'anything necessary to keep the search for Madeleine alive'.

The couple are also expected to discuss the injunction against a former police officer who worked on the case of their daughter's disappearance.

Earlier this month, a Portuguese judge banned any further sale or publication of Goncalo Amaral's book, The Truth Of The Lie, in which he claims Madeleine is in fact dead.
