Dixon, who joined the club from Brisbane Broncos in 2006, has played an integral part in creating a top-flight outfit from what was an embryonic rugby league team four years ago.
And also he said he is 'disappointed' to be leaving, Dixon stated he 'respects the chairman's right to bring change'.
'I would like to thank all the players, staff, and the very loyal band of supporters who I feel have all played integral roles in the successes that the club has achieved over the last four years,' he said.
'I acknowledge that the first year in Super League has been difficult.
'I would like to wish the club every success in the future and I am pleased to state that the development structures are now in place that will help ensure the long-term sustainability of the club and rugby league in Wales.'
Crusaders chairman Leighton Samuel thanked Dixon for his 'outstanding contribution over the last four years'.
'He has played a major role in getting the club to Super League and put down a development structure which should see the club benefit in the years to come,' Samuel explained.
'He has at all times been an excellent ambassador for the club and everyone would like to wish him, and his wife Helen, all the best for the future.'
The Welsh side, who were controversially awarded a licence to play in rugby league's top flight last summer despite concerns over their financial stability and fanbase, finished the season in 14th place with just three wins in 27 games.
The club were always expected to struggle, but after being hit by a number of additional off-field problems - including the visa difficulties of six of their top stars brought in from Australia - Celtic failed to be truly competitive.
Celtic Crusaders said an announcement about a new coach will be made 'in the near future'.
