Following Saturday’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium, Jones will be looking at his squad to bounce back and progress in the competition.
The tie will see the Bluebirds go into battle without a handful of regular first teamers.
Experienced midfielder Stephen McPhail serves the second match of a three-game ban after being sent off against Reading, Nigerian midfielder Solomon Taiwo is cup-tied, whilst Ross McCormack, Kelvin Etuhu, Kevin McNaughton and Adam Matthews are all on the treatment table.
Aston Villa boss, Martin O’Neill insists that his team are “raring to go” as they look for a good cup run.
Villa have been knocked out in consecutive years by lower-league opposition and O’Neill is looking to reverse the club's fortunes.
“We just want to make some progress,' he said.
'We are out of Europe so we really want to concentrate on everything domestically. This competition is upon us and we will go and give it everything we’ve got.
“It will be difficult – primarily because our record in this competition at home over the past few seasons hasn’t been very clever.”
Villa will be without defender Luke Young who misses the clash due to family commitments, while his namesake Ashley Young has also emerged as a doubt after picking up a calf injury against Portsmouth.
Powerful striker Emile Heskey (ankle) is unlikely to be risked, while summer signing Stewart Downing continues his comeback after having an operation earlier this week to remove a pin from his foot.
