UK soldier killed in Afghanistan
A British soldier has been killed in Afghanistan's Helmand province, the Ministry of Defence has said.

The death of the man, from the Royal Logistic Corps, brings the total number of UK military personnel killed in Afghanistan to 224.

He was killed in Sangin, in Helmand province, on Saturday.

A spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Lieutenant Colonel David Wakefield, said: 'It is with great sadness I confirm that a soldier from the Royal Logistic Corps died in an explosion in Helmand Province.

'He will be missed by us, his comrades, but he will not be forgotten.'
