A scan on Turner-Hall's shoulder, which he injured against Saracens in the Guinness Premiership last weekend, showed a labral tear that requires surgery.
In a brief joint statement, Quins and England said: 'The surgery will take place next Monday September 28th.
'The Harlequins and England medical teams expect that Jordan will be unavailable for a period of up to three to four months.'
The news is a further blow to England head coach Martin Johnson plans for the autumn fixtures after already losing first-choice centre Riki Flutey to a shoulder injury this week.
