Raikkonen's Ferrari drive uncertain

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed for the first time that there is uncertainty surrounding Kimi Raikkonen’s position with the Maranello-based squad.

Both Raikkonen and Felipe Massa are contracted with the team until the end of the 2010 season, but intense speculation has linked Raikkonen with a move elsewhere, in order to make room for double-world champion Fernando Alonso.

Until now, Ferrari has denied claims that they are trying to offload Raikkonen, but in Florence on Wednesday, di Montezemolo said: 'We will have a Brazilian driver because he deserves another chance, given that he is well.

'Regarding the other seat, we are reflecting upon the best choice, but we still have time.

'We will decide within a few weeks.'

Di Montezemolo also expressed his confidence in Ferrari’s prospects for the 2010 season.

'We have taken a couple of years of vacation because the regulations were not clear,' di Montezemolo joked.

'Next year we will come back strong, but saying that, this year is not over yet.'
