City draw Arsenal in Carling Cup quarter-finals

The last eight of the Carling Cup consists of all Premiership sides
The quarter-final draw for the Carling Cup has been made, with Manchester City’s home tie with Arsenal being the pick of the ties.

City will provide a stern test for Arsene Wenger’s young guns after they disposed of Liverpool in the previous round.

It also sees former Gunners star Emmanuel Adebayor come up against his ex-teammates for the first time since he was banned for three games for kicking Robin van Persie in the head in City's 4-2 win at the City of Manchester Stadium in September.

Another eye-catching tie sees Manchester United drawn at home to Tottenham Hotspur in a repeat of last year's final, which United won on penalties.

In the round’s other matches, Blackburn Rovers will host Chelsea and Aston Villa will travel to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth.
