And after the release of her debut solo album 3 Words, Cole has become only the 12th female artist in chart history to hold the top spot in the two official charts.
She is the third female solo artist to do so this year, after Lily Allen and Lady GaGa also managed chart doubles.
Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company, said: 'This is another fabulous achievement by Cheryl Cole and 3 Words now looks set to be one of the biggest albums of this coming Christmas.
'She is already firmly established on X-Factor and is now well on her way to becoming the Queen of Christmas 2009 too.'
The only new entries in this week's singles chart were Westlife's What About Now at two and Down by Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne at three.
Four new release entered the top ten in the albums chart, with Michael Jackson's This Is It the highest new entry at three.
