Pumas missing Hernandez and Contepomi

Argentina have confirmed they will embark on a three-Test tour of the United Kingdom next month without two of their main attacking threats.

Injuries to star fly-half Juan Martin Hernandez and centre Felipe Contepomi mean neither player has been included in the 29-man squad for the autumn internationals.

Hernandez is suffering from a back injury while captain Contepomi is still on the comeback trail after suffering a knee ligament injury at the end of last season while playing for Irish side Leinster.

Contepomi's absence means flanker Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe is likely to step in to lead the team.

The squad is also without back-row forward Juan Manuel Leguizamon but the pack remains strong with a front row consisting of Leicester's Marcos Ayerza, Stade Francais' Rodrigo Roncero and Clermont hooker Mario Ledesma.

Argentina play England at Twickenham in their first match on November 14th before travelling to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff to face Wales on November 21st.

The Pumas end their trip to the northern hemisphere at Murrayfield where they will take on Scotland on November 28th.
