Date set for Briatore's court hearing

Briatore is looking to have his lifetime ban overturned
Former Renault team principal Flavio Briatore will have his case against the FIA’s decision to hand him a lifetime ban from motorsport heard in November.

Briatore was slapped with an indefinite suspension at the FIA’s World Motor Sport Could hearing into the 2008 Singapore grand prix race-fixing scandal, where former Renault driver Nelson Piquet was asked to deliberately crash out of the race to assist his team-mate Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard went on to win the race.

At a preliminary hearing at the Tribunal de Grande Instance in Paris on Monday, the court considered Briatore’s application against the governing body and decided his case was worthy of a hearing.

The hearing will take place on November 24th, where Briatore will attempt to get his ban overturned by French courts and seek damages from the FIA.ADNFCR-708-ID-19418818-ADNFCR
