A teacher from Manchester has pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Matthew Knott, 24, who worked at Elton High school in Bury admitted meeting the girl through 'sexual grooming' using an internet messaging site.
Manchester crown court heard Knott, from Miles Platting, met the girl twice. She was not in the school where he worked.
He has been remanded in custody and will be charged on September 30th.
He pleaded not guilty to raping the girl, but pleaded guilty to 'sexual activity'. The judge said Knott would sign the Sex Offenders Register.
The job at Bury school was believed to have been his first teaching job. He was suspended when the allegations emerged.
