Premier League new boys Burnley have bolstered their back-line with the signing of Andre Bikey from Reading.
Bikey, 24, signs on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The Cameroon international will be available for Burnley's home clash with Manchester United tomorrow after a technicality means he will have served a four match ban picked up at the end of last season.
Bikey was sent off for Reading against Burnley in the first leg of the playoff semi-final, but a loophole in the laws means his ban will be completed on Tuesday evening when the Royals visit Swansea City.
Tottenham exploited this same loophole when they fielded former Newcastle United defender Sebastien Bassong on Sunday.
Bikey initially joined Reading on a season-long loan from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006, with the loan being made permanent a year later for a fee of £1million.
In three years at the Madejski Stadium, he made over 70 appearances, scoring seven goals.
'Andre stayed with us last summer to help us get back into the Premier League, but this time around he was desperate to play at that level; he felt it crucial with regards to his World Cup ambitions and also the African Cup of Nations, for which he will be away in January,' said Reading director of football Nick Hammond.
'Andre is a great lad, and I am sure the fans will miss him because he gave us some great moments. Like all of our departing players, we wish him every success for the future.'
