Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes the Premier League is more competitive than Italy's Serie A.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea's opening game against Hull on Saturday, the former AC Milan boss said he believed a number of teams had a chance of winning the league this year.
'The championship in England is more competitive than in Italy because there are only 3 or 4 teams that can win but here more teams can win,' he said.
'I'm curios about Manchester City and also Aston Villa because they played very well last season,' he added.
Chelsea won their first piece of silverware under Ancelotti at the weekend, beating Manchester United on penalties in the Community Shield and the Italian is aiming to be involved in all this year's competitions as the season reaches its climax.
'The ambition is to remain competitive until end of season. We want to get to March and April still in all the competitions and if we have strength and good mental attitude we have a chance to win,' he said.
This will be Ancelotti's first season outside of Italy and he is hoping to replicate the success he had in Serie A with Chelsea, although he admitted it may take a few weeks his squad are completely confident with his tactics.
'I am happy to start the season and have a good feeling about the atmosphere at this club,' said the 49-year-old.
'It's my first season outside Italy and I want to do well with my team, I am happy, not afraid, there is no tension.
'Last game some periods were good and some not so good so we need more continuity on the pitch.
'We have to work because the situation on the pitch needs to be natural. Now it is not natural because the system is new but work with the players will help that,' he added.
Defender Ricardo Carvalho will be available for the game at Stamford Bridge and believes a winning start is vital for the clubs Premier League campaign.
He said: 'Of course it is important to start well.
'For the first game of the season you have to have confidence to play. Everyone prefers to play at home instead of away, and it is always better being at home to get a result and play well,' he added.
