United missing five for Moscow test

Manchester United are missing five first-team regulars for the trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday, manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.

Ferguson has confirmed that veteran Ryan Giggs will miss the trip after he picked up a minor injury in the 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

And the Welshman joins a lengthy injury list at Old Trafford, which also includes Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, Ji-Sung Park and Darren Fletcher.

'Ryan Giggs has got a knock,' Ferguson explained.

'Wednesday is too early for Wayne but we'll certainly see him on Sunday [against Liverpool].'

Two other players who missed Saturday's narrow victory over the Trotters - striker Dimitar Berbatov and defender Nemanja Vidic - could feature against the Russians.

However, Ferguson said he was only 'hopeful' on both players as United look to make it three wins out of three in European competition this season.ADNFCR-708-ID-19417766-ADNFCR
